Black Agate Polished Freeform Nodule 1.66kg — Collector Specimen Lapidary Display Piece High Grade
Black Agate Polished Freeform Nodule 1.66kg — Collector Specimen Lapidary Display Piece High Grade
This is a single polished black agate freeform nodule weighing 1.66 lb (753 g) and measuring approximately 5.5" × 1" × 3.7". The piece carries a consistent vitreous polish across the entire surface, bringing out a deep jet-black chalcedony groundmass with strong contrast against cream, tan, and golden-ochre chalcedony banding.
The standout feature is a natural botryoidal chalcedony pocket set into the face of the nodule — rounded, grape-like formations in warm cream and ochre tones that read as almost luminous against the dark background. That combination of inky groundmass and ornate banding pocket is what pushes this specimen into high-grade display territory.
At this size and with uniform high polish, the nodule also offers real lapidary utility. The clean, consistent black material yields excellent large-format cabochons — the banding geometry gives a cutter meaningful options for orientation and composition.
One-of-a-kind specimen. No fabricated details, no stand included. What you see is exactly what ships.
