Black Agate Polished Freeform Slice 1.34kg — Collector Specimen Display Crystal Druzy Chalcedony

This substantial black agate freeform slice weighs 1.34 kg (approximately 1.3 lbs) and presents one of the more visually striking natural formations we see in agate slabs: a naturally formed cross-shaped translucent window of white-grey chalcedony druzy sitting precisely at the center of a jet-black polished face. That window is not carved or enhanced — it grew that way.

The mirror polish on the primary face brings out the depth of the black coloration and makes the druzy window glow when backlit. A raw tan-brown cortex rim runs the perimeter, preserving the original skin of the nodule and giving the piece honest geological context. Luster is vitreous, crystal system trigonal, consistent with Brazilian or Uruguayan agate material.

At this size and weight, this is a shelf-presence piece — substantial enough to anchor a display without a mount. The cross motif, the contrast between opaque black and translucent chalcedony, and the quality of the lapidary polish place it above typical black agate slabs in both collector and decorative appeal.
