Bumblebee Jasper Polished Slab — Collector Lapidary Specimen Indonesia Vivid Banded Cabinet Piece
Bumblebee Jasper Polished Slab — Collector Lapidary Specimen Indonesia Vivid Banded Cabinet Piece
This is a polished slab of Bumblebee Jasper sourced from West Java, Indonesia — one face brought to a display-grade polish to show off the stone's characteristic banding, with the natural reverse face left unworked.
The material is a composite of orpiment, realgar, and andesite, formed in the volcanic hydrothermal zones of Java. The face shows vivid orange and yellow orpiment bands alternating with pale gray andesite matrix and dark gray to black volcanic host rock. Band definition is tight and clean, with strong orange saturation across the face.
Bumblebee Jasper is an uncommon collector material. Its bold color contrast and waxy luster make finished slabs like this one well suited for display cabinets or as a reference piece for lapidary study. Note: this material contains orpiment and realgar, both arsenic-bearing minerals — handle with standard precautions and keep away from children.
Offered by Garland Workshop & Lapidary. Each piece is a natural product; color and banding will vary from specimen to specimen.
