Crazy Lace Agate Rough Specimen Multi-Mineral Matrix — Large Cabinet Piece Lapidary Rough Collector Grade
Crazy Lace Agate Rough Specimen Multi-Mineral Matrix — Large Cabinet Piece Lapidary Rough Collector Grade
This is a large, complex block of Crazy Lace Agate rough from Chihuahua, Mexico — one of the few localities on earth that produces this distinctive multi-banded chalcedony. The specimen weighs 9 pounds and measures approximately 10 × 10 × 10 inches, putting it firmly in cabinet-display territory.
Color runs across salmon pink, brick red, deep burgundy, white, and silver-grey in tight concentric lace banding. Black manganese oxide dendritic inclusions web through several faces, and patches of golden yellow iron oxide secondary mineralization add contrast throughout. A natural pocket on one face exposes a dark contrasting mineral alongside that golden secondary material — an uncommon structural detail in a single block this size.
Surface texture varies considerably across faces: some areas show the smooth, waxy luster of exposed chalcedony; others are rough cortex carrying the dendritic patterning intact. That variety of surfaces means a lapidary cutter has genuine options — cabochons, slabs, freeforms — with strong yield potential from multiple orientations. It displays equally well raw, as the scale and pattern complexity read clearly from across a room.
Specimen grade: High Grade. Formation: natural rough. Crystal system: trigonal. Luster: waxy. Rarity tier: uncommon. One piece available.
